In the discussion at the Media Center Jokowi, as many as 20 economists agrees plan to increase the price of fuel oil (BBM) subsidy by the government Joko Widodo - Kalla coming.
One of them economists, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Sri Adiningsih assess the increase in fuel price subsidies into fiscal solution to the problems of lack of space the State Budget (Budget).
"One of the most discussed points where these economists asked the government to increase fuel prices," he said in Jakarta, Monday (1/9).
He said, economists see the fuel subsidy this year to reach Rp 250 trillion very redundant because of the target.
"The economists agree that fuel subsidies be reduced by raising the price and there is a reallocation of fuel subsidy to health insurance such as Indonesia Sehat, a free education is not only the cost but up until junior high school, and the other that can actually be felt for the poor," he explained.
UGM economist Tony Prasetiantono added in increasing fuel prices, there are two that right time this month and March next year. It is, by looking at the impact of the rate of inflation after the price hike.
"If this September, Pak SBY increased prices., But if not now, I see in March next year, the time is right. January and February was heavy rainfall and cause flooding (made of high inflation). Hence inflation ramps seen in March," he said.
He believed, indeed the fuel price hike decision will reap from some parties. However, it is a short-term effect and the public will accept it slowly. "People will accept, fuel scarce than later," he concluded.
